Steadfast and Faithful - by Tara Hibbs
Sep 24, 2019
It has been a little over three years since I left Sonlight and Port-de-Paix. I am still reflecting on my time there and still so thankful for the lessons that God taught me while I was there and that He continues to teach me from my time there.
The lesson that God is teaching me right now through Sonlight is steadfastness and faithfulness.

Staff members come and go, but God keeps the ministry of Sonlight going. The steadfastness and faithfulness that Sonlight brings year in and year out is what is making a difference in the community of Port-de-Paix.
The steadfast and faithful education that the students receive is changing their lives. Their education based on the truth of God in a world of mistruths is bringing change and salvation.
The steadfast and faithful employment that numerous Haitians receive is changing their lives, not just with income. Staff members are praying together, and they are learning good working skills of work ethic, problem-solving, and honesty.

Sonlight is a respected name in Port-de-Paix because residents know the difference that it is making for the good of their community
Even amidst a fuel crisis and little fuel to supply electricity for homes and the school building AND protesting happening in the community AND tires being burned outside the office door, Sonlight is wanting its doors open to teach children, provide work, and teach people about God and His Son, Jesus.
Isn’t that God to us?
He’s always there. He promises us that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). He promises that nothing, not even death, can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38).
God’s love is steadfast and faithful (Psalm 86:15). His steadfast love endures forever (Psalm 136:26).

Sonlight is reflecting God’s steadfast and faithful love, year in and year out, in Port-de-Paix. Sonlight is still teaching me to do this with my life, over three years later.
Let’s pray for the staff and ministry of Sonlight to continue in its steadfast and faithful work (and for fuel and inverters for the solar panels :
