Short Term Trips |
"Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man's behalf." Psalm 66:5 |
 |
| You are invited to come and see Sonlight and meet our staff, students, and community! There are many ways God can use you to help, support, and encourage His ongoing work in Haiti.
Sonlight welcomes several individuals, families, and mission teams throughout the school year. Visitors usually stay for seven to ten days. They help with the work of ministry and show God's love to the Haitian community. They also encourage and refresh Sonlight's full-time staff. |
 |
| There are many ways visitors can participate in Sonlight's work. They include assisting Sonlight Academy teachers in their classrooms and tutoring individual students. These are perfect ways to get involved, get to know students, and get a feel for the life of a Sonlight missionary. Mission teams can also teach Sunday school and lead devotions or worship.
As Sonlight grows, there is an ever-increasing need for maintenance workers. Roger Alexander organizes building, construction, and maintenance projects that need to be completed, and our staff depends largely on the work of visitors to accomplish these projects.
Other project opportunities include health clinics and special events for staff or students. |
 |
| Sonlight organizes trips in the city of Port-de-Paix and to nearby sites and missions so that visitors may see a wide scope activities in Haiti. These afternoon trips include visits to the market, a Haitian hospital, a children's home for the terminally ill, and to the homes of Haitian families.
Please pray about planning a trip to Sonlight, to take part in God's work in Haiti. It would be a blessing to have you as our guest!
If you're interested in planning a trip, please read through the provided information and contact Carmen Niehaus, carmen@sonlightministries.org, about a possible trip and available dates. It is necessary to start planning at lease six months in advance of the trip date.
