Getting Started

The information provided here is aimed at individuals leading a short-term trip team from their church. Please modify to fit your needs.

• Contact Sonlight about a possible trip and available dates.
  
  
• Start planning and preparation at least six months in advance of the trip date.
  
  
• Check on and order airline tickets. If later you want to change the date of your trip, please contact Sonlight before altering tickets.
  
  
• Schedule activities and keep in close contact with Sonlight's staff.
  
  
• Notify Sonlight of any persons with skilled labor or specialty work abilities.

• Meet regularly to pray, plan, and prepare.
  
  
• Update travel documents and immunizations.
  
  
• Educate the group members about Haiti and Sonlight Ministries.
  
  
• Plan activities and projects according to the team's desires and abilities and Sonlight's immediate needs.
  
  
• Keep abreast of support-raising efforts and supply collecting.
  
  
• Pray for each other, Sonlight's staff and students, and the people of Haiti.

• Raise financial support.
  
  
• Gather supplies.
  
  
• Recruit prayer warriors.
  
  
• Return and share about what your group accomplished and learned.
