The following costs apply to short-term groups* visiting Sonlight for up to eight days:
A. Round-trip airfare to Port-au-Prince, Haiti
B. In-country room and board in Haiti: $500/person
The $500 cost for groups includes:
- Air travel to and from Port-de-Paix
- Hotel in Port-de-Paix and meals at Sonlight
- Transportation in Port-de-Paix as needed
- Project money for work projects the group will be doing
The $500 cost includes the above plus:
- Transportation from the international airport to the domestic airport.
- Lodging and meals at the guesthouse
Groups and visitors should send their in-country costs to Sonlight Ministries, PO Box 8031, Evansville, IN 47716, at least two weeks in advance of departure from the United States.
C. Possible overnight stay in Miami depending upon travel arrangements. Plan to arrive in Port-au-Prince prior to 1:00 PM to make the connecting flights to Port-de-Paix the same day.
D. Possible additional project supplies
Depending upon the type of work or activities your group wishes to do. For men who wish to work construction:
They should bring the following Leatherman pliers, 4-1 screw driver or multi-tipped screw driver, tape measure, carpenter pencils, claw hammer, and a pouch with belt loop that will carry these items. Remember to pack these in your checked luggage.
E. Personal spending money
*"Groups" in this sense refers to those who come with their church, youth group, etc., to see the ministry, be a part of work projects, and to get a general overview of what is happening at Sonlight.
