Ideas for Making a Trip Packet for Your Church or Group |
| Make a cover for your packet that includes the place and dates. Perhaps add a logo and a theme for your group.
Include In Your Packet:
- A welcome letter/page from the trip leader.
- An itinerary of the trip.
- A packing list, identifying what to bring, what not to bring.
- A section for journaling: Many in your group will be overwhelmed by some of the experiences on the trip. Keeping a journal is a great way for them to work through some of the the experiences.
- Emergency information (phone numbers, email, etc).
- A list of Creole words.
- Quotes/thoughts/Bible verses for them to think/reflect on during the week.
- A daily Bible study/lesson for your group.
- Words to songs: Each night, you will have a chance to debrief as a group. Worshipping together is a great way to start.
- Rules for the trip: No romances. When in an airport, NEVER joke about bombs. Everyone works. Maintain positive attitudes. Try the language. Eat everything on your plate, etc.
- Prayer list page for names of people in Haiti.
- A sheet to explain culture stress/shock.
